Our Texas Heroes Set offers an affordable selection of five families containing six genuine old penmanship fonts, all modeled after the handwriting of notable residents of Texas back in the days of the republic—each with its own distinctive style.

Texas Hero™—the original vintage handwriting simulation—replicates the utilitarian hand of Thomas Jefferson Rusk, an early Texas statesman and soldier;
Houston Pen™ is based on the stylish script of Sam Houston, first president of Texas;
Lamar Pen™ accurately reproduces the elegant hand of Houston’s nemesis, Mirabeau Buonaparte Lamar;
Emily Austin™ closely approximates the hand of Emily Austin (Bryan) Perry, matriarch of a clan of early Texas settlers;
and Austin Pen™, whose two styles are inspired by the handwritten pages of the famous Mexican prison diary of Stephen Fuller Austin, brother of Emily.

Each font has scores of OpenType features, including contextual and discretionary ligatures, lining and old-style numerals, ink blots, crossouts, and other period flourishes—as well as full Latin support.
